Take advantage of the growing interest in Kite Surfing. You can learn the techniques right in front of your beach cottage. Kites, boards, and surfing lessons are all on offer on Praia do Tofo.

Every day the small Tofo Market nearby sells organic fresh fruit and vegetables grown in local villages, and delicious paõ, the Mozambican version of Portuguese bread rolls, made by artisan bakers. Alcohol and airtime are also available.

Surfing is a hit in Tofo Bay, where the perfect small break is the best way for adults and kids to learn first time around. Tofinho Bay, rated as the No. 1 surf spot in Mozambique, is where the more experienced surfers can play. Lessons are available, and boards are on hire, on the beach in front of your cottage.

Tofo is well known for its populations of marine animals, from Dolphins, Giant Manta Rays and Whale Sharks to migratory Humpback and Southern Right Whales, which migrate northward from the icy Antarctic waters between June and October every year. Snorkelling and scuba diving trips can be arranged from four different dive centres located right on your doorstep.

Praia do Tofo was the first place on the African continent for a 1,000 lb marlin to be caught. While staying at your very own beach cottage, you might yourself one day get to experience the same thrills and excitement. From one of the deep-sea fishing boats based at Tofo, you could catch a giant marlin, or perhaps a king fish reeled in from the beach itself.

Local fishing dhows sail out every day from the Inhambane Estuary, just a few kilometres from Tofo. Book a dhow to explore the estuary, snorkel over coral reefs in calm bays and around sand islands, or visit Pansy Shell Island.
